About
Small Venue
Music.

Built by people who love live music at small venues.

Our story

Why we
built this.

It started with a Friday night at a Richmond brewery. The chalkboard said “Live Music Tonight” but the stage was empty — the band had cancelled that morning. The bartender shrugged and said it happens all the time. That was the moment the idea took root.

After talking to dozens of venue owners and musicians around Richmond, the pattern was clear. Bar and brewery managers were spending hours every week chasing acts through text messages, Facebook DMs, and word of mouth. Meanwhile, talented cover bands and working musicians were sitting home on weekends because they didn't know which venues had openings.

Both sides wanted the same thing — a reliable way to connect. But there was no tool built specifically for this market. The existing platforms were designed for concert venues and touring acts, not for a local bar or brewery that needs a three-piece band for Saturday night.

Small Venue Music is that tool. We're starting in Richmond because this is home — and because Richmond's bar and brewery culture deserves a platform that actually understands how live entertainment works at this scale.

Our mission

What we believe.

Live music at small venues is the backbone of local culture.

It's what turns a bar into a destination and a neighborhood into a community. When a brewery has a great band on a Saturday night, people stay longer, come back more often, and tell their friends.

Working musicians deserve a professional way to find consistent work. Venue owners deserve reliable entertainment without the runaround. We're building the platform that makes both of those things easier — starting with the basics and earning trust one show at a time.

◆ Launch partners

With thanks to those
who said yes first.

We're grateful to be launching alongside a small group of Richmond venues and performers who believed in this before it launched. Their feedback shaped every feature, and their trust is something we don't take lightly.
